We are the friendship project
The Friendship Project exists to serve- showing compassion to those who have suffered the tragedy of war and natural disaster in the Middle East and the surrounding regions.
Our Story
In 2013, a young Palestinian man, Mohamad, left Aleppo, Syria to search for work. Growing up in a Palestinian refugee camp in Aleppo, he knew about poverty and hardship. In 2014, he arrived in Europe seeking asylum as a refugee. It was in Europe that his life was radically changed by the unconditional love he was shown there. In 2022, through truly miraculous circumstances, Mohamad was able to return to his home city of Aleppo. The devastation from war was shocking. Then in February, 2023 while Mohamad was en-route to Aleppo, a devastating earthquake hammered the war weary people of Aleppo. Within days, churches in the U.S. began asking how they could help the people in northern Syria. Out of this outpouring of love, the Friendship Project was born.
